What is a client portal, and does my business need one?
A client portal is a secure website where your clients log in to see their own files, project status and requests. Each user sees only what is meant for them: that’s role-based access.
It replaces email back-and-forth and shared spreadsheets. A portal pays off when you manage many clients, exchange documents regularly, or answer the same status questions every week. Law firms, accountants, real estate agencies, training providers and associations are typical examples.
How long does it take to build a portal?
Most portals go live 2 to 4 weeks after kick-off. A single workflow automation can be ready within days.
Larger projects, with several user roles and integrations, are delivered in phases. You start using the first part while we build the next. You get a concrete timeline after the discovery call.
How much does a custom client portal cost?
The cost depends on the scope: the number of user roles, screens and automations you need. After a free 30-minute discovery call, you get a clear estimate.
On top of the build, there are monthly platform subscriptions (Softr, Airtable). We help you pick the plan that fits your number of users.
Who owns the portal once it's built?
Your choice. The portal can run in a Softr and Airtable workspace in your company’s name, with admin access for you. Or Automatable hosts and manages it for you.
Either way, your data stays yours, and the portal can be moved to your own workspace at any time.
Do you work in Dutch, French and English?
Yes. Automatable is based in Belgium and works in Dutch, French and English.
